@2016 by 3ANTRA

3ANTRA (pronounced Mantra) is a global fusion band dedicated in crafting progressive pop with multi-cultural sounds. Formed in October 2015, the four full-time members all attended Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) in Pasadena CA, where they met as part of a class project. Amanda Chitarra, lead singer hails from Indonesia. Ryota Kuroda, guitarist, and drummer Takeshi Kato are both from Japan. U.S. native William Gardner plays the bass. Each member has different influences that they bring to the table to create a unique and experimental blend of music. After three of the members graduated in March 2016, the band decided to take on the U.S. music scene and they have been inseparable ever since.

First take was a mini tour to bassist William’s hometown of Elko NV where the band was featured on a local radio station, KELK radio as well as played for Elko High School Band of Indians. Back in Los Angeles, they hit Pour Vous, The Mint, and Pasadena’s own Make Music Pasadena festival. All of this while recording the band’s debut EP with producer John Avila from Oingo Boingo fame. With the support from awesome backers, the EP was funded through Kickstarter during its final production reaching a total fund of $5,050, that’s $550 over the initial goal.

“When all is said and done the four of us really connect musically and almost spiritually which creates an amazing environment to play in,” Says bassist William. The fusion of experimental, progressive, pop, jazz, world music, and everything in between creates a journey of sound that will take you into the very core of human nature and it’s surrounding.

"3ANTRA......A group of 4 extraordinary musicians who miraculously came together in the halls of Los Angeles College of Music during the Fall of 2015. Since that time they've developed into a musical force to be reckoned with. With Indonesian born lead vocalist, Chitarra, leading the charge, the group  prances and weaves through world beat grooves and exotic rhythms with an amazing live show featuring recently recorded songs 'Black Lily' and 'Union'. I think the future looks bright for 3ANTRA! World be ready..."

-- John Avila (Oingo Boingo fame, producer, bass player)

"Anyone who loves dreamy lyrics and dynamic musical interplay will find 3ANTRA irresistible. There's a hint of Indonesian influence in this quartet's melodic sensibilities. This is no surprise, as Amanda Chitarra - 3ANTRA's singer and primary songwriter - originally hails from Jakarta. Guitarist Ryota Kuroda, bassist Will Gardner, and drummer Takeshi Kato weave intricate textures, playing with assured ease, making every note count."

-- Adam Levy (Guitar Dept. Head, Los Angeles College of Music)

"3ANTRA is a band like no other. They're ability to blend well crafted poetic lyrics around a hightened sense of musicality makes for a unique musical experience altogether. They seamlessly blend world music with a stroke of pop that upon listening could only be 3ANTRA."

-- Rick Garcia (singer, songwriter, producer)
